My niece is getting married soon, while talking with her about it, she mentioned that she thought they were just going to go to the courthouse to get married. While financially I completely understood, I asked her, is that really what you want? Your wedding day shouldn’t have to just be cheap, it can be memorable, and St. Louis has a lot of places where you can get married and not go into debt. Here are a few:
Location: In Forest Park, St Louis, MO located between Wells and Mckinley drives.
The Jewel Box is one of the loveliest places in St. Louis to have a wedding and it’s one of the most popular. Built in 1936 it resides in the heart of Forest Park. Very few places are you able to get a “garden” wedding style while enjoying the comfort of air conditioning.
Capacity: Maximum capacity is 250 people.
Cost: $1,000 this includes chair set up for the maximum capacity. This is the only equipment provided, other items such as podiums, sound systems, etc., will need to be rented from an outside source.

For a wedding with a view, The Moonrise Hotel Rooftop Terrace provides a stunning aerial view of the city. Located on the 8th floor of the hotel, it has a sleek-modern feel. The hotel also provides the couple the option to block rooms for out-of-town guests.
Capacity: Maximum capacity is 250 people.
Cost: $550 this includes seating for 80 people. There are multiple choices for catering such as buffet, meat carving stations or a dessert selection.

Built in 1908, The Magic Chef is one of the historic gems of St Louis. Built for the founder of the Magic Chef Stove Company, it boasts beautiful grounds as well as a pristine interior. The provides several options for guests as well as a patio area by the carriage house for outside seating.
Capacity: 75 inside with an additional 50 with the Carriage House included.
Cost: $2,000 during peak months (6 hours), $1,200 for 4 hours. The Carriage House can be added as an additional space for $950 or alone for $1,500.

This church is a popular destination for weddings, reasonable priced, located in downtown St Louis and it’s beautiful. The many features include lovely mosaics as well as ornate fixtures providing a lovely backdrop for a wedding.

Located on Millionaire’s Row about 25 minutes from downtown St Louis, this elegant mansion provides Southern hospitality with an elegance rarely found so well preserved. They provide services as simple as a ceremony-only option to a no-fuss option allowing the couple to just sit back and thoroughly enjoy their day.
Capacity: 2-100 with your choice of inside or outside.
Cost: $399 – $2,999 depending on amenities choses.

One of the most beautiful parks in St Louis with multiple venue choices. There is a stone structure, better known as The Ruins, The Music Stand or the Pavilion for inside events.

For the couple seeking a unique, yet affordable venue, Dodson Orchards is your place. Set in the lovely Missouri hills, this 100 year-old barn provides the perfect backdrop for an intimate gathering of your closest family and friends.

This is one of the most romantic wedding venues in the St Louis area. A petite glass garden house set in the midst of a historic district close to the first capital of Missouri. Regardless of the season, your ceremony can feel like a tropical getaway surrounded by private gardens. This venue is a beautiful setting that requires very little if any additional decorating.

Set in the midst of Quail Ridge Park, the lodge will accommodate 180 guests. It is a single-floor facility with vaulted ceilings and a beautiful wrap around deck that overlooks a scenic lake. For additional photo opportunities, there is a gazebo near the lake and lodge.

Location: 1868 Highway F, Defiance, MO
Built in New Melle in the 1800s this chapel is the centerpiece of the present-day village. After a remodel, the church was moved at the turn of the century to the Daniel Boone site. While the chapel is picturesque, there is a pipe organ and overhead balcony that can be utilized for your ceremony.
