A running joke in our house is how all of my husband’s belongings could fit in a single piece of luggage. Evidence of his former bachelor’s life have been reduced to a large photo prop of himself that was used in a play he was once in, clothes in his closet and a couple of plastic bins with memorabilia from his Air Force days.
Like many couples, as the female I tend to make the pick out the furnishings and decorations while Jeff’s final frontier is the garage, where he has workout equipment, tools and lawn equipment. It’s not exactly a man cave, but I know he’d love to have one. (Perhaps in our next house, Honey?)
Man caves are all the rage these days – and rightly so. If girls can have entire rooms devoted to “crafts,” guys deserve their own spot catered to their tastes – a place to relax and escape and do manly things – like watch TV.
The man cave trend has even made its way into weddings, where the groom and his guys can retreat to either pre-wedding or during the reception. There they can find a blackjack table, a brandy bar or even a PlayStation, according to The Knot‘s Carley Roney, who noted the trend in The Wedding Report.
Brides, let your guy run with this (as long as its in the budget) and let him plan and tailor a man cave with fun and unique ideas to meet his interests.
Have you been to a wedding with a man cave? What would your dream man cave have?
