The Deal that Almost Wasn't!
I got a great deal on a couch this weekend. I keep my eye on postings from a local dropoff eBay store. If I bid and win items, I can swing by and pick them up without paying shipping. I found a great couch and the bidding started at $9.99. I had the highest bid at $20.50 for four days ... When the time on the auction was four minutes and counting, I logged on to make sure no one snagged my bargain in the last minute. I'm so glad I did—someone jumped in with 10 seconds remaining and outbid me! I immediately posted a higher bid and won the auction with like two seconds remaining. Unbelievable! Total price: $32.87. Not bad!

Speaking of shopping, I live in Chattanooga, Tennessee and we are surrounded by Bi-Lo grocery stores. They often run BOGO sales and they also double coupons. Last week they had Malt-O-Meal cereal on sale for $2.09, buy one, get one, which dropped the price to $1.04...after a $.50 coupon doubled to $1.00, I paid a whopping $.14 (with tax) for a box of perfectly good cereal!

That's some good savings... especially if it's cushy for a tushy.

Totally wish I could find a couch for that good of a deal. Using the one I got in college (used) over 5 years ago. But I do think SUREFIT covers are a good route for a couch makeover.
