Make Your Own Baby Food

babyfood.gif An article I ran across today says you can save 70% off the cost of baby food by preparing it yourself. And you'll also save your little one from the preservatives and additives baby food makers add to their mush.

They say all you need is:

• A food processor or blender
• A few ice cube trays
• Some plastic freezer bags
• The food

About.com is a good place to start for recipes and how-tos.

Easy to do. I did this, although it's been years since I had a little one. I would use a stick blender on most foods, then into the ice cube trays. Label well in zip locks. The only negatives I got were from daycare, they didn't like our food, said it was different & harder to work with. We didn't buy 1 jar of manufactured baby food. Probably saved a small fortune!
